So, I’ve been wanting to make a cake…a light and fluffy, pretty white cake and just have fun. Haha, well I did actually have fun, but the cake didn’t turn out as pretty as I was hoping and although the layers are thick and beautiful it wasn’t as light and fluffy as I was hoping for. But, you know, I really enjoyed making it and this year is a year of celebrating and taking risks (more on that to come!:), so I call it my Leaning Tower of Celebration.
You know, sometimes things don’t turn out as you thought they would and that’s okay. Learn to let go and let God. The cake might not look pretty but at least I get to share it with others. And it might not taste the way I wanted, but it was a new recipe, so move on and just enjoy! It was a white cake with buttercream frosting, decorated with fun pink sprinkles! I’m really liking sprinkles these days!:) The sprinkles were not sticking…they were bouncing everywhere because I waited too long to put the on and the frosting hardened just enough. It wasn’t hard but just not gooey soft anymore for the sprinkles to stick. No worries, that just means the frosting set up nicely:)
Baking and cooking can be tricky because you want it to be the best and you go to all that work so you want it to not only taste good but look good, too. Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t but that’s okay, at least you tried and hopefully had fun! Enjoy life, enjoy the cooking and the baking and the sharing. Most of all enjoy being the person God created you to be and share that person with others, along with a slice of a big ole leaning tower of celebration. Whatever that might be.
His mercies are new every morning so celebrate! Be Free!
