I am Summer and I am passionate about baking!image

I love creating something yummy and delicious and sharing these treats with others.  Whether it’s just for fun, they need something warm and comforting because of a sad time, they’re celebrating or they’re just in need of some good treats from the oven and fellowship.

I desire to bake, share and serve those around me.

I’ve held back from this for so long because the enemy kept telling me I shouldn’t bake, I shouldn’t enjoy or I shouldn’t think about food and what to make.  It all stemmed with being perfect, feeling perfect, being healthy enough, good enough – I was an anxious wreck and I couldn’t just let go and allow God to take control, even though I desperately kept trying to just release it all to Him!
It’s still tough, but you know, I think I’ve  come to realize that maybe He made me to bake and enjoy it. To bake and to share my baked goods and life stories with you and with others. To just ‘be still and know He’s God’ (psalm 46:10).  Will you be a part of my life as I want to be a part of yours – to laugh, to share, to grieve, to just be us – because we are each ‘fearfully and wonderfully made!’ (Psalm 139:14)
Since my health and your health is important to me, I like to incorporate that into my baking…challenging myself to make healthier versions of old time favorites or new recipes altogether.  I try to use Organic ingredients as much as possible but, let’s face it, it’s expensive, so use what you have and enjoy!
I don’t want the enemy to hold me down anymore because Jesus came to set the captives free (Isaiah 61:1).  I am ready to be free and be the woman God created me to be! Are you ready?  I am!  Pull up a seat, put on an apron, wear a smile and let’s bake together?  I can’t wait to share baking successes and funny (sometimes frustrating) mishaps together.
It’s time to get up and rejoice!
‘For this is the day that the lord has made’ (Psalm 118:24). And, ‘to be  anxious for nothing but in everything through prayer and supplications with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all comprehension will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ (Philippians 4:5-7).

I can’t wait to bake and share stories and life with you – over a delectable dessert and a glass of milk or warm fresh bread and a glass of wine.
